I started creating a Notion template known as Smart Finance Tracker in public on 19th Jan 2022 and shared my process every day from which I got hundreds and thousands of impressions, grew to 1000 followers, and earned over $400 even before launching the product.
This makes it very clear why I'm asking people to #buildinpublic, but there is more to it.
Why should you create in public?
I think 99% of the creators should build in public. The process of sharing your journey is so empowering both you as a creator and as a person looking at your progress who is either can be a learner or a potential buyer.
Creator - You get constructive feedback from potential customers as well as experts.
Learner - You learn the process of creating something from scratch and launching it. This makes your journey when you start building something similar very easy.
Buyer - You get the confidence that the product that is getting built is actually what you need.
How building in public helps in launching a product?
Keeps you accountable
In just 13 days, I was able to build a template and was able to launch it while creating daily content on it 😱.
This would not have been possible without this #buildinpublic journey.
Builds an audience
Build In Public community is as better as the Notion community if you know what I mean 😁. They are super supportive and best at giving feedback.
Also, you find so many amazing people creating incredible things that keep you motivated.
"Building a product is as important as marketing a product."
Makes you a humane marketer
One thing that I learned about building this template in public was that you can do marketing while being humane the whole time.
So, here's why I think 99% of you guys should be building your next big thing or small in public.
